Brother Bear is a film that I’m very mixed on. I didn’t really like this film as a kid. But when I rewatched it as an adult a few years ago as part of a Disney marathon I was doing, I enjoyed it a little bit more. Ultimately, here are my current thoughts on the film right now.
I think the first 20 minutes of the movie is amazing. I love the relationship between the 3 brothers, the dealing of loss/guilt, and deciding to seek vengeance on the loss of a loved one. That was some really heavy and emotional stuff. But I feel like the movie completely goes downhill once Kenai gets turned into a bear. From there, it feels like a typical kids animated film.
