Marvel Studios is reportedly developing a new series centered on “The Punisher” for Disney+, with Jon Bernthal expected to reprise his role as Frank Castle.
Bernthal’s portrayal of The Punisher was first introduced in Netflix’s “Daredevil” Season 2, followed by two seasons of his own series, “The Punisher.” His performance was widely acclaimed, and fans have eagerly anticipated his return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Before leading his own series, Bernthal is set to appear in “Daredevil: Born Again,” scheduled to premiere on Disney+ on March 4, 2025. This series will also feature Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, continuing their roles from the original Netflix series.
Marvel Studios’ head of streaming, Brad Winderbaum, has indicated that there are plans for Bernthal’s Punisher beyond “Daredevil: Born Again,” suggesting a significant future for the character within the MCU.
While official details about the standalone Punisher series are yet to be announced, these developments indicate Marvel Studios’ commitment to integrating popular characters from the Marvel Television era into the broader MCU narrative.
