Hold on tight, this is getting scary! “Wrong Turn 9: Final Chapter” (2025) brings us the latest installment of this long-running horror saga that never seems to tire of giving us chills. The film returns to its roots and takes us deep into the Appalachian wilderness, where a group of unsuspecting hikers find themselves trapped in a true nightmare scenario that would make any hiking lover think twice.
The story begins with a group of friends who, in a fit of madness, decide to explore an isolated section of the Appalachian Trail. Among them are Alex, the leading adventurer with a spirit bigger than his common sense; Sarah, his partner who surely wonders what the hell he’s doing; Lucas, a survivalist who looks like he stepped out of a mystery book; and Mia, the photographer who probably thinks she’s on an Instagram tour, but doesn’t realize she’s about to be the next star of a horror movie.
Unwittingly, they’re entering the territory of the last survivors of an inbred cannibal clan that has been scaring these woods since the dinosaurs went extinct. As the group ventures deeper into the woods, they begin to experience strange occurrences: supplies disappear as if they had a life of their own, disturbing noises ring out at night, and that creepy feeling that someone is watching them won’t go away. Tensions rise when they discover an ancient abandoned camp with traces of a fight so violent it would make a Viking warrior shudder. And that’s when they realize they’re not alone! The horrors of the past are more alive than ever, ready to make their excursion an experience they’ll never forget… or maybe they will, because if they don’t manage to escape, they could end up on the menu for the day.
