Underworld 6: Rise of the Vampire picks up where the previous film left off, with Selene (Kate Beckinsale) now a powerful vampire elder after ascending to a new level of strength and immortality. The vampire and Lycan war has seemingly ended, and peace is fragile between the two species. However, a new, sinister force emerges, threatening to reignite the age-old conflict.
The trailer opens with Selene standing alone in a snow-covered forest, her iconic black leather armor gleaming under the moonlight. She narrates, “I thought the war was over, but darkness always finds a way back.” The peace between vampires and Lycans is shaken when mysterious assassinations of high-ranking vampire elders begin. Selene is forced out of her solitude when a secret vampire coven, long hidden and believed to be extinct, resurfaces.
This ancient coven, led by a new villain named Viktorion (played by a yet-unnamed actor), seeks to overthrow the vampire council and return to a time when vampires ruled over all supernatural creatures. Viktorion is revealed to be a pure-blood vampire of immense power, far older than any vampire seen before, and believes Selene is the key to fully unlocking his dominance over the vampire race. His coven’s goal is to resurrect an ancient vampire god, a being of immense power that could enslave both vampires and Lycans alike.
Selene, now a reluctant elder, must stop Viktorion’s rise while navigating internal strife within the vampire clans, many of whom question her leadership and origins. She teams up with David (Theo James), her ally from the previous film, as they attempt to uncover the mystery of Viktorion’s origins and his connection to vampire lore. In doing so, Selene discovers more about her own bloodline and a shocking secret: her blood holds the key to Viktorion’s success, and she must either sacrifice herself or find another way to stop him.
The trailer showcases a series of action-packed sequences: Selene battles Viktorion’s elite assassins in dark, gothic castles, snowy forests, and underground lairs. The Lycans, led by a new alpha, also return to aid Selene, recognizing that Viktorion’s rule would mean the end for all Lycans.
The climax of the trailer teases an epic final battle between Selene and Viktorion atop an ancient, crumbling temple. As Selene faces off against the ancient vampire, the power struggle is fierce, with blood, betrayal, and high-octane combat. The trailer ends with a cryptic line from Viktorion: “The rise of the true vampire has begun.”
Underworld 6: Rise of the Vampire promises to be a thrilling return to the gothic, action-filled world of vampires and Lycans, with Selene at the center of a deadly power struggle that could change the fate of both species forever.
