Terminator 7 is in development and making major headway, but another upcoming movie is the perfect replacement for the stale franchise. The Terminator movies have been going on for decades, beginning with the classic original released in 1984, and followed by the arguably improved sequel, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, seven years later. Those first two movies were written and directed by James Cameron and the latter totally revolutionized cinema with its spectacular visual effects. These movies also tell a timeless story that has been copied countless times, as technology created by humankind becomes more powerful and more intelligent than humans, which leads to an all-out war.
The Terminator franchise took a turn for the worse in the 2000s, as Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines was negatively received, and almost every subsequent installment has been worse than what’s come before it. Many critics called Terminator: Dark Fate a return to form, but it was only seen that way because it followed Terminator Genisys and Terminator Salvation. Nevertheless, despite the dwindling interest in the series and their diminishing returns at the box office, Terminator 7 is now in development. However, the upcoming sci-fi movie The Creator is everything a modern Terminator film should be, and it proves it’s too late for the making of Terminator 7.
